Real Madrid have reportedly join the race to sign Liverpool target Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 20-year-old winger was watched by scouts in the Champions League last night as the German giants lost to Real Madrid’s city rivals, Atletico Madrid.
He was recently linked with a summer move to Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp has lined him up on a shortlist of young wingers alongside Leicester City’s Demarai Gray.
Real Madrid are now also interested in signing the German winger, according to the Daily Mail, so Klopp will have to do some persuading in order to beat the Spanish giants.
Zinedine Zidane is said to have sent scouts to watch Brandt during Leverkusen’s 4-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this week. Brandt played 86 minutes of the defeat, creating three chances and successfully performing 7/13 take-ons.
Brandt played for the youth academy at VfL Wolfsburg before joining Leverkusen in 2013 for around £300,000 and has since become a regular in their first-team.
So far this season, he has made 21 appearances in the Bundesliga and scored two goals.
However, he is ahead of his teammates in terms of chances created with a total of 32 so far, and that figure also includes six assists.
