‘You’ll all have Mo Salah on the back of the f****** papers tomorrow!’

Manchester City made light work of Watford during Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

Pep Guardiola’s side hammered their opponents 6-0 – the biggest FA Cup final victory since Bury’s win over Derby County by the same scoreline way back in 1903.

City completed an unprecedented domestic treble in the process, having already won the Carabao Cup and Premier League title this season.

It’s a remarkable achievement by Guardiola and his players.

The only competition they’ve slipped up in this season was the Champions League, where they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Tottenham.

Guardiola has bemoaned the media’s coverage of Man City in recent weeks.

Earlier this month he told talkSPORT: “People in the media desire Liverpool to win the title. So I am sorry for the people that it’s in our hands.”

And ahead of the FA Cup final, he questioned why Paul Pogba’s altercation with Manchester United fans was the lead story on the Daily Mail’s website over Man City securing the Premier League title ahead of Liverpool.

“People don’t like winners,” Guardiola added, per the aforementioned Daily Mail. “Here, in Spain, in Italy, everywhere. We feel our people are happy with what we have done. I feel our fans in the street, the letters I receive from the people. They are incredibly satisfied.”

However, Guardiola’s digs at the media have clearly rubbed off on City’s fans.

One supporter at Wembley broke into the press box shortly after the full-time whistle to have a go at the journalists, saying they’ll all have Liverpool’s Mo Salah’s on the back pages of Sunday’s newspapers.

Watch it here…

“We’ve done the domestic f****** treble,” he shouts. “No-one’s ever done it before! But you’ll all have Mo Salah on the back of the f****** papers tomorrow! City!”

Someone should probably tell him that City’s Raheem Sterling was voted the Football Writers’ Association’s Footballer of the Year earlier this month – ahead of Salah and the Egyptian’s Liverpool teammates.
