Liverpool fans have not seen too much of Xherdan Shaqiri so far in a Liverpool shirt.
Signed from Stoke for £13 million in the summer, the Swiss international was expected to be nothing more than a back-up for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
And it appears that may well be the case.
After a promising pre-season, the 26-year-old has been frustrated in his search for playing time so far for Liverpool.
He has been on the pitch for just 27 minutes in Liverpool’s opening four Premier League games so far this season.
But if his performance in Switzerland against Iceland is anything to go by, that could change very soon.
Liverpool fans would have been watching Shaqiri’s performance closely and he did not disappoint bu producing a marvellous display.
His side dismantled the visitors as they eventually prevailed 6-0. And Shaqiri was the best player on the park in the romp.
His teasing delivery from a set piece in the first half ended up with Denis Zakaria netting to make it 2-0 to the hosts.

And he then got his name on the scoresheet as his free-kick glanced off an Iceland head and into the net.
Shaqiri’s free kick that lead to the goal for Switzerland today. He bossed it today. He will be excellent for Jurgen and a ton of games coming up I expect him to start a few soon. pic.twitter.com/JIsbWxpwDZ

His performance got Liverpool fans talking and it’s fair to say they are now very excited to see what he can bring to their side.
Shaqiri had a stellar performance playing in a #10 role for Switzerland today vs. Iceland. Excellent (as always) on set pieces and amazing creative link-up play up front. That day is not far when we get to see him play in a similar role for us, possibly behind our front 3. #Beast pic.twitter.com/fLiB9crCmh

Someone needs to make a Shaqiri compilation of this game. Probably his best game ever.
