Jurgen Klopp shuts down transfer rumours regarding Oxlade-Chamberlain, calling them ‘nonsense’
We all know Jurgen Klopp doesn’t like discussing transfers, but he has now. Liverpool have once again been linked to Oxlade-Chamberlain. The manager however, says its nothing but nonsense.
Klopp said the following in the presser ahead of the game against Manchester City.
“Usually I don’t say anything about transfer rumours but this one is nonsense.”
I think he wanted to shut that one down fast. To me, I think he’ll do it to keep everyone focused on the match. With strong opponents, he wants everybody thinking about the game and not possible transfers.
Maybe he just wants to deny a link to the player because its a resounding no. Either way, I’m glad he ended the speculation.
I don’t mind Chamberlain, I just think we should be looking for slightly better.
He could be developed under Jurgen Klopp, but I think we should look for wingers in the Sadio Mane mould this January. After all, somebody will likely be needed to cover for Mane when he goes away to the African Cup of Nations.
It looks like Oxlade-Chamberlain won’t be that player.
