What Liverpool fans were all saying about Xherdan Shaqiri after his display v Brazil

Xherdan Shaqiri played the full 90 minutes as Switzerland secured an impressive point against World Cup favourites Brazil.

Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho gave Brazil the lead with a stunning strike in the 20th minute before Steven Zuber equalised with a header early in the second half.

Shaqiri, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, bagged the assist for Zuber’s goal with a brilliant corner.

The 26-year-old is available for just £12m this summer after Stoke City were relegated to the Championship.

“It is no secret that I will leave the club,” Shaqiri told Aargauer Zeitung in May.

“I think the [English] league is perfect for me. I would love to stay in England but I don’t want to rule anything out. It’s the best league with the best players.”

Liverpool are looking to bolster their attacking options in midfield, especially after missing out on Lyon captain Nabil Fekir.

Reds supporters had their eyes on a number of players during Brazil’s 1-1 draw with Switzerland.

Shaqiri was heavily criticised by Gary Neville ahead of kick-off and Liverpool fans on Twitter appear to be in agreement about him too.

The people have spoken.

Liverpool have secured the signings of Naby Keita and Fabinho but fans are still hoping for one or two more big signings.

Alisson Becker was between the sticks for Brazil once again and the Anfield faithful would love to see Klopp splash the cash on the Roma goalkeeper.

They’re expected to bring in some kind of replacement for Loris Karius, who conceded two howlers in their Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Klopp is still searching for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who joined Barcelona in January for £142m.

A deal for Fekir had been agreed but the transfer collapsed at the last moment.
