What Liverpool fan noticed about Mohamed Salah during 3-2 defeat v West Brom

Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round action ended at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool hosted Alan Pardew’s struggling West Bromwich Albion.

The tie got off to an eventful start when Roberto Firmino’s lovely chip put Liverpool ahead, only for Jay Rodriguez to score twice in four minutes – all before the 15-minute mark.

In the end, the Merseysiders lost 3-2 to West Brom, with lots of questions surrounding their defence and midfield following the respective moves of Virgil van Dijk and Philippe Coutinho.

Mohamed Salah has exceeded all expectations so far since arriving from Roma last summer, however Reds fans weren’t impressed with one part of his game against the Baggies.

The Egyptian is currently a leading candidate alongside Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne for the 2017-18 PFA Player of the Year award after some outstanding performances.

He’s already scored 25 goals this season, however Liverpool fans who watched the FA Cup tie believe he needs to improve one key thing despite bagging a goal – his right foot.

Salah, who was named the African Footballer of the Year in 2017, likes to play on the right-wing, since this is where he can cut in onto his preferred left foot and unleash shots on goal.

However, against West Brom, when he was asked to go the other way and produce quality on his right foot from the byline, he was found wanting.

In addition to some poor crosses, he also had some lacklustre shots on goal with his weaker foot, and Reds supporters took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

Fans feel the winger is in desperate need of a better right foot, with one person claiming it’s “the worst thing ever” – check out the best reaction below:

Liverpool will need their 25-year-old star at his best for the upcoming games against Huddersfield Town, Tottenham, Southampton and Porto in the Champions League.
