What Jamie Carragher did on social media after Van Dijk’s goal was just brilliant

If you were to ask Virgil van Dijk how to describe his dream Liverpool debut, scoring a late winner in the Merseyside derby at the Kop End in the FA Cup was probably better than anything he could come up with.

But that’s what exactly happened.

Just when it looked as though Everton would come to Anfield to grab another 1-1 draw, the £75 million signing popped up with an 85th-minute header to send Liverpool through to the fourth round.

Anfield went mental and so too did every Liverpool fan around the world.

And that includes club legend Jamie Carragher.

Carragher wasn’t an Anfield, though.

Instead, he was Carragher’s Pub & Restaurant in New York with loads of fellow Liverpool fans.

All set for the @liverpoolfc v @everton ⚽️🇺🇸🍻

And it’s fair to say the former defender enjoyed himself.

We know that because he filmed the scenes just after Van Dijk’s goal.

In the video, you can see Liverpool fans in the pub going crazy before Carragher shouts: ‘“You f***ing beauty!”

We reckon Carragher had a pretty decent night…

WHAT VAN DIJK SAID AFTER THE MATCH
As for Van Dijk, you couldn’t blame him for enjoying a few beers after his dream debut.

That’s exactly how he described it in his interview after the game.

“What a night! The win was fully deserved, obviously,” he said on BBC.

“It was amazing to be out there and playing with these guys. The goal was very special for me and my family.

“Playing at Anfield for Liverpool is a dream for every player I think. To score a goal is even more special.”
