What James Milner tweeted about this picture of Mohamed Salah was hilariously brilliant

When he arrived at Liverpool for £37 million last summer, very few people would have predicted he would go on to win the PFA Premier League Player of the Year in his debut campaign.

Not only that, he is on the verge of leading Jurgen Klopp’s side to a Champions League final.

And he’s just one goal away from breaking a Premier League record of the most goals scored in a 38-game season. He’s notched 43 goals in all competitions overall.

Having won the PFA Player of the Year, Salah was probably the first name in the PFA Team of the Year.

And as a result of being named in the XI, he was presented with a little plaque by the Premier League.

On Monday, before the Liverpool squad flew out to Rome, Salah was given that special plaque and his teammates helped him celebrate it by posing for a rather brilliant photo.

The likes of Loris Karius, Ben Woodburn, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner held Salah up as he posed with his Team of the Year award.

And, as we’ve come to expect, Milner responded in hilarious fashion.

He tweeted: “Nice for us to carry @MoSalah for a change – congrats on making the @pfa team of year.”

Liverpool fans loved Milner’s cheeky tweet.
