Watch: Liverpool star the victim of Wet Willy attack v Plymouth

Yep: I’ve been working as a football writer for four years now and this is easily my favourite headline I’ve ever written.

It does exactly what it says on the tin…

Our robust German, Emre Can, has taken to Instagram to complain that a Plymouth marker during Sunday’s 0-0 draw gave him a Wet Willy – the infamous playground trick where a wet finger is stuck in the ear!

It’s some serious League Two gamesmanship and clearly confuses Can, but fair play in our books – they were there to make it hard for us and that they did!

Can seems in good spirits about the ‘attack’ now though, judging by his #wetwilly hashtag. We can only assume one of the English players taught him the lingo!

The 22-year-old should start tomorrow night against Southampton, but is likely to drop to the bench for the trip to Old Trafford if Jordan Henderson is fit to return.
