WATCH: Liverpool fans love what Firmino did after scoring v West Brom

The opening half of Liverpool’s visit to West Bromwich Albion was an incredibly drab affair.

And then Roberto Firmino woke us all up by heading home in first half stoppage time.

The Brazilian gave Liverpool the lead when he converted from Lucas Leiva’s flick-on. The away side had dominated possession but had to wait until the 46th minute for their goal.

Firmino has now scored two goals in two games and has taken his tally for the season to 12 goals in all competitions.

And, with Sadio Mane out for the rest of the season, the 25-year-old is going to have to continue his good form if Liverpool are to finish in the top four.

Jurgen Klopp will have been delighted with Firmino’s goal, and the German will have been even more impressed by Firmino’s reaction to his goal.

The forward received his seventh yellow card for ‘excessive celebration’ since 2012-13 after celebrating his goal in last week’s win over Stoke City by removing his shirt.

Clearly, it’s time for Firmino to come up with a new celebration. Even dabbing – a celebration made popular by Paul Pogba but despised by a number of fans – wouldn’t get Firmino cautioned.

FIRMINO HAS LEARNED HIS LESSON

Thankfully for Liverpool supporters, it seems as if Klopp has had a word with the player, for he kept his shirt on this time.

But he came very, very close to taking it off.

After scoring, Firmino began to lift his shirt up before stopping himself, and sparing himself another unnecessary booking.
