Liverpool and their goalkeepers has been quite the tale of woe of late.
The Reds have spent years trying to find a commanding presence to stick behind their wobbly back fours’ and have failed to do so time and time again.
There have been brief glimpses of what they have so desperately craved, but all of those moments have proven to be false dawns.
Simon Mignolet was an excellent shot stopper and could save a penalty better than most, but he simply couldn’t dominate his box and was a flimsy presence at best at the back.
Brad Jones was never more than a back-up playing above his station while Loris Karius, who at times looked a decent bet for the Reds last season, is completely bereft of confidence after his calamity of a Champions League final.
However, it seems that all those years of hurt might just be behind the Anfield faithful, after Jurgen Klopp splashed the cash on Brazilian keeper Alisson Becker.
Alisson became the worlds most expensive goalkeeper in the process, signing from Roma for a whopping £67 million.
While that is an eye-watering amount to say the least, it is a real statement of intent from Klopp as he looks to address an issue that has plagued his side ever since he took over in 2015.
Unfortunately, Liverpool fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see their shiney new gloveman in action as he continues his holiday after the World Cup.
In the meantime, they are still stuck with the likes of Loris Karius.
However, there was more encouragement on the goalkeeping front during their pre-season friendly with bitter rivals Manchester United in Michigan.
With Karius sidelined by a knee issue and both Mignolet and Alisson on vacation, 19-year-old Kamil Grabara was handed a start.
And the youngster didn’t disappoint.
He oozed confidence and there was one incident in particular that had Reds fans singing his praises.

What a brilliant moment for the youngster.
Sadly, he could do very little to save Pereira’s sensational free kick later in the half, but it will still be a game that will live long in his memory for sure.
Who needs Alisson when big Kamil is around?
