Reaching the Champions League final and finishing fourth in the Premier League represented a decent season for Liverpool.
But with the players they have and Jurgen Klopp as manager, there’s a sense that the Reds have so much more to give.
Next season they’re expected to challenge for the Premier League title and in preparation for that Klopp has been very busy in the summer transfer window.
He’s already signed Fabinho from Monaco for £44m and it’s being reported that Stoke City and Switzerland winger Xherdan Shaqiri is on his way for just £12m.
And then there’s Naby Keita, who agreed to join Liverpool last summer and arrived last week with the intention of taking his new club to the next level.
“When you see how they (Liverpool) performed last season it makes me want to do the same and to be a part of this team,” said Keita upon the completion of his move.
“I would like to be able to achieve a similar kind of season with them next season – but even better. I chose Liverpool because it is a team I watched often.
KEITA FINALLY ARRIVES
“I also spoke a lot about it with Sadio [Mane]. He told me a lot about the team and the club.
“I also spoke with the coach (Klopp), who told me about the project for the team and that motivated me to be here.”
Keita was given a tour of Melwood on Sunday and when he walked into the dressing room he was greeted by a friendly face – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Liverpool last summer from Arsenal and is currently recovering from a knee ligament damage.
And he used his injury to break the ice with Keita in a rather touching moment between the two, which you can watch below.

Keita has never met Oxlade-Chamberlain before but was given a warm welcome by the Englishman, who showed exactly why he’s so well loved at Liverpool.
“How you doing bro, you okay?” said the Ox. “Nice to meet you, welcome. Yeah I’m not bad, not as good as you but I’m okay! Soon.”
