France followed up a 0-0 draw to Germany in their UEFA Nations League opener by beating the Netherlands 2-1 on Sunday.
Olivier Giroud volleyed in a 74th-minute winner after Ryan Babel had cancelled out Kylian Mbappe’s early opener at the Stade de France.
It was Les Bleus’ first home match since winning the 2018 World Cup and one Frenchman in a typically upbeat mood was Antoine Griezmann.
He took the ball off the referee to practice basketball shots before kick-off and even did his Fortnite-themed celebration during the post-match World Cup party.
However, there was one moment involving the forward which happened within the 90 minutes in Paris that viewers simply couldn’t get over.
WIJNALDUM BEATS GRIEZMANN WITH LOVELY SKILL
Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum started for the Dutch in a surprisingly advanced attacking role behind lone striker Memphis Depay.
In the 56th-minute, the midfielder got himself out of a tight area in brilliant fashion by whipping out the roulette skill to evade Griezmann’s attempted tackle.
After completing the 360-degree turn, Wijnaldum lifted his head up and tried to dribble away with the ball, but Atletico Madrid’s main man was having none of it.
GRIEZMANN’S FUNNY REACTION
Having been beaten all ends up by Wijnaldum, Griezmann reacted by cynically latching onto the Dutchman’s shorts, ripping them and very nearly pulling them off altogether.
