Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been busy in the transfer market this summer.
After making Virgil van Dijk the most expensive defender in the world back in January, Liverpool have added Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson to their ranks.
There’s less than one week until the window closes and most Premier League fans would surely agree that Liverpool have been the winners of this year’s summer window.
Even Jose Mourinho admitted he’s been impressed by Liverpool’s summer signings – but has put pressure on them to win some silverware.
“The problem is you have to invest well and honestly I think they did very well, because every player they bought are quality players and I’m happy for them,” Mourinho said, as per the Independent.
“I’m also happy to smile and to see that you can change your opinion and change as a person, it’s funny.
“Now you have to demand and say the team – with the investments you are making last season, that you made in January that you make now, that will probably be the record of the Premier League this season, a team that was a finalist in the Champions League – you have to say you are a big candidate, you have to win.”
PLAYER INITIATION SONGS
The Liverpool squad are currently taking part in a pre-season training camp in Evian following their US tour.
On Thursday night, the new players were forced to sing in front of their teammates.
The team spirit really looks fantastic ahead of the 2018/19 season.
Each of the new arrivals are expected to play big roles as Klopp attempts to win his first trophy as Liverpool manager.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach “doesn’t care” about the “increasing pressure” after spending nearly £170m on four new players this summer.
“We have not bought a team whilst the others have sold theirs, it is not like this,” Klopp told BBC Sport.
