Premier League clubs are said to be battling it out to sign two of Nottingham Forest’s rising stars.
Liverpool and Manchester United are in a race to land 17-year-old striker Ben Brereton, according to the Daily Mirror.
Brereton has caught the eye for Forest’s under-23 side this season, scoring 15 goals in 20 games.
And he further enhanced his growing reputation by netting a dramatic late winner against Aston Villa in Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship encounter at the City Ground – his first senior goal.
Liverpool reportedly had a £2.5m bid for Brereton (below, left) turned down by Forest during the January transfer window.
And Reds boss Jurgen Klopp apparently remains keen to land the teenager in the summer.
With United also said to be keen, could Brereton soon be on his way to the Premier League?
Meanwhile, the Mirror also reports that Forest’s 19-year-old midfielder Matty Cash is a target for Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The London club could face competition from German side Red Bull Leipzig, who signed winger Oliver Burke from Derby County’s arch rivals last summer.
