Thomas Lemar still wants to sign for Liverpool in the near future despite not joining the Reds in the summer transfer window, according to reports in France.
French newspaper L’Equipe, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the France international was pushing for a transfer to Anfield but a move failed to materialise.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool were linked with a move to sign the 21-year-old midfielder from Monaco during the summer transfer window but the attacker ended up staying put at the Ligue 1 club.
The same report says that Lemar could still seal a move to Anfield in the future because he “only has eyes for Liverpool.”
Liverpool did make one signing on transfer deadline day as they wrapped up a deal to land midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal as Jurgen Klopp brought in his fourth summer recruit.
The Reds also signed Mohamed Salah, Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson over the summer as Klopp prepares his team for a return to the Champions League group stage next month.
Liverpool also tied up a deal to bring Naby Keita to Anfield from RB Leipzig, with the midfielder set to officially arrive on Merseyside next summer.
