Thierry Henry is backing Liverpool to spend big in the summer transfer window as Jurgen Klopp prepares his team for a return to the Champions League.
The Merseyside outfit are celebrating finishing in fourth place in the Premier League table after their 3-0 win over Middlesbrough on Sunday clinched their spot ahead of Arsenal.
The Reds will now be turning their attentions to the summer transfer window and the potential players they could bring in to bolster their squad ahead of Klopp’s second full season in charge at Anfield.
And Arsenal legend Henry is expecting to see Liverpool splash the cash in the summer as they prepare for a return to Europe’s elite club competition.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Henry said: “They are missing some pieces at the back. In midfield, too.
“Are they going to buy a big striker who will give them the goals that Luis Suarez did?
“We will see. They are going to buy big in the transfer market.”
Liverpool finished eighth and without a trophy last season but are now preparing for their return to Europe’s top club competition after a successful first full campaign in charge for Klopp.
