Thierry Henry makes a surprising prediction about Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool career

Mohamed Salah has made quite the impact since his £35 million move to Liverpool in the summer.

The Egyptian currently sits top of the club’s scoring charts with six goals and he won back-to-back Player of the Month gongs for August and September.

However, plenty of Liverpool fans still aren’t totally enamoured with the former Roma man and for the six goals he has scored, he’s missed plenty more.

That was the case again on Saturday as Liverpool drew a blank at Anfield against age-old rivals Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho is the Man United boss these days and he was also the manager when Chelsea first loaned and then sold the flying forward to Roma back in 2015.

One fan of the 25-year-old is Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and the now Sky Sports pundit predicted big things for Salah in the future.

“I don’t think it’s about proving Mourinho anything, but proving the Liverpool fans that you are this guy – that you can be a player like [Philippe] Coutinho,” Henry said.

“For me, he [Salah] is special, he has something special. He will be a special player for Liverpool.

“I like the fact that he is direct – we don’t have a lot of players like that in the game anymore.

“And yes, people will say sometimes that he needs four opportunities to score a goal. When he is able to finish all the opportunities he has then he will be more than lethal for this club.”

It’s a pretty bold statement by all accounts, but Salah is only 25-years-old and could improve his composure in front of goal.

On top of that, Sadio Mane is also 25 and many would argue he is far more polished than his teammate.

Still, Henry is clearly a fan of Jurgen Klopp’s summer signing and given that Henry once possessed electric pace similar to Salah, it might go some way to explaining why.

Liverpool now face an away trip to Maribor in the Champions League before facing Tottenham at Wembley next weekend.

There’s surely no better place Henry would like Salah to justify his comments than against Spurs!
