The true value of Liverpool’s squad revealed as Salah overtakes Messi

Liverpool – the Champions of Europe –  are boss, there is no denying it, but the Reds also have one of the most valuable squads in the world at the minute.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, The CIES Football Observatory have released their latest valuation of the top players in the game, and five Liverpool players are worth an excess of £100million.

The organisation list players based on their ability, age, playing position and which league they play in, across the top five leagues in Europe.

Mohamed Salah has been rated at the second most valuable player, behind PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, at £200million with the Frenchman being touted to cost an eye-watering £231million.

Legendary Barcelona forward Lionel Messi comes in at an impressive £153million – Mo’s partners in crime aren’t far off the Argentine international as Sadio Mane (£144million) and Bobby Firmino (£132million) make the top ten.

Two other Reds stars hit the nine-figure mark as Virgil van Dijk is valued at £102million, and young Trent Alexander-Arnold at £119million – making the Scouser the 13th most valuable player in Europe.

Former Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling features high up the rankings as the Manchester City winger comes in at £190million – just £10million shy of Mo.
