The 22-goals winger desperately wants Liverpool transfer this summer

Nicolas Pepe wants to sign for Inter or Liverpool this summer, according to reports in France.

The Lille forward is hot property this window after 22 goals in Ligue 1 last season – a tally only bettered by Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.

Liverpool have already moved to distance themselves from reports they are trying to sign Pepe, but the player himself favours a move to Anfield.

L’Équipe claim Pepe, 24, is delaying his decision on his next club, as he is convinced PSG will move for him.

Lille believe they can fetch as much as £70million for Pepe and the player is keen to move on.

Liverpool and Serie A side Inter are Pepe’s preferred destinations, although it remains to be seen if the Reds do move for him. Jurgen Klopp is reportedly planning a quiet summer after spending big a year ago.

Liverpool are on the hunt for a back-up left-back and striker after the departures of Alberto Moreno and Daniel Sturridge.

However, Liverpool have been known to splash the cash when Klopp’s top targets become available.
