Supporters really want Klopp to sell this Liverpool player following loss to Bournemouth

Liverpool surrendered a 3-1 lead as they lost 4-3 away to Bournemouth this afternoon in a dramatic encounter at the Vitality Stadium.

Lucas was one of the key culprits in Liverpool’s capitulation, with the Brazilian, filling in at centre-back in the absence of Joel Matip, struggling to cope with the pace and vibrancy of Bournemouth’s attacks in the second period.

Although he was more assured in the first-half, the flaws in Lucas’ game – notably his pace and lack of decisiveness – were laid bare as the game wore on, prompting some Liverpool supporters to suggest that the 29-year-old should be sold.

Lucas is Liverpool’s longest-serving player – he has made over 300 appearances for the club across over nine years – but he doesn’t appear comfortable at centre-back, at least on today’s evidence.

Today’s defeat saw Liverpool miss out on the chance to close the gap on league leaders Chelsea to one point.

Here’s how Liverpool fans reacted to Lucas’ performance against Bournemouth:
