The Liverpool legend doesn’t expect Manchester City to sell Joe Hart to the Anfield outfit
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has alternated between long-term number one Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius in goal this season with mixed success.
The German shot stopper moved to Liverpool in a £4.7m deal from Bundesliga outfit Mainz 05 in the summer transfer window as Klopp looked to resolve Liverpool’s goalkeeping issues.
However, Karius has failed to convince in the Liverpool first-team and has since been relegated to second choice behind Mignolet.
Hart, meanwhile, was sent out on loan to Serie A side Torino in the summer after new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola deemed the England international surplus to requirements.
Appearing on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show, Liverpool legend Gerrard was asked about the possibility of the Reds signing Hart.
Gerrard said: “I don’t think Manchester City would want Joe Hart to go to one of their rivals. Why would they?”
Liverpool lost 3-2 to Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon to leave their title hopes in doubt.
