Stats show that Liverpool £100,000-a-week star’s form has fallen off a cliff

Liverpool’s drastic dip

Things are so bad at Liverpool that Jurgen Klopp now has a worse record as manager of the club than Brendan Rogers did after the same amount of matches. There are plenty of reasons for the downturn in form (a reluctance to defend being one) but the one we want to focus on in this article is Roberto Firmino’s form.

It’s fallen off a cliff in recent weeks.

Firmino’s horrendous form

Fans were kicking lumps out of the shiny-choppered Brazilian on Twitter last night after another anonymous shift in the defeat at Leicester. At the start of the season, he was destroying opponents. Now, the rhythm has gone from his game. So much so that he’s only scored three goals in his last 19 appearances for the Reds. He’s made no assists in that time. That means that the last time £100,000-a-week Firmino provided an assist was in early November against Watford.

On that occasion, Liverpool put six past the Hornets.

It increased talk of them being the biggest challengers to Chelsea. Now, they’re fifth and 14 points behind the Blues. If they want to secure Champions League football then they’ll need the likes of Firmino firing.

Take a look at how he’s fared in his last 19 games below.Firmino-stats-February-2017-1024x641
