Out-of-favour Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge emerged surprise target for Italian outfit AC Milan
The England striker has started just five Premier League games this season and looks to be out of favour under Klopp, with a summer exit now expected.
Talksport report that AC Milan are now interested in Sturridge and could make a move for him at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, The Mirror reckon that Merseysiders are interested in signing Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette – but would have to sell Sturridge first in order to land him.
The Reds have seen their title bid fall apart recently, and are at risk of missing out on the top four altogether after Monday’s 3-1 defeat at Leicester City.
Jurgen Klopp’s once vaunted attack is showing signs of slowing down, with Roberto Firmino particularly struggling to find the net of late.
Lacazette, 25, has long been regarded as one of Europe’s top strikers, and he has again impressed this season with 27 goals in 31 games in all competition.
The French international, who has ten caps for his country, has now scored an impressive 119 goals in 261 games for Lyon, and looks set to move on at the end of the season in search of a new challenge.
It’s claimed that Arsenal are keen on Lacazette, whilst Liverpool are also looking to bring him in, but would have to sell Daniel Sturridge to fund a deal that could push £60million.
Premier League clubs would no doubt love to land the 27-year-old, and Liverpool may well hope to sell him on this summer in order to splash the cash on Lyon hero Lacazette.
