Sadio Mane posted on Instagram after win v Spurs – Salah fans made their feeling clear

One of the most impressive things about Liverpool’s front three last season was the fact they all played for each other.

None of them appeared to care who scored, as long as the ball ended up in the back of the net.

It just so happened that Mohamed Salah ended the 2017-18 campaign on 44 goals, Roberto Firmino on 27 and Sadio Mane on 20.

However, it was Salah who received most of the praise and, indeed, the individual awards.

The Egyptian forward deservedly picked up Liverpool’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season accolades. He also won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year, the African Footballer of the Year, the FWA Footballer of the Year, and the Premier League Player of the Season, as well as the Premier League Golden Boot.

Mane and Firmino could be forgiven if they felt slightly envious. After all, they played a significant role in their teammate’s success last season.

That said, Salah was never boastful about his achievements while the increase in fame hasn’t changed his character. He remains very humble.

This season, though – particularly during Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Tottenham at Wembley – there have been worrying signs of selfishness from both Mane and Salah.

Both players had opportunities to pick one another out and kill the game off at Wembley but either decided to go it alone or pass to another teammate.

Here are a few examples…

At one point towards the end of the match, Jurgen Klopp could be seen furiously screaming at Salah to pass the ball to Mane after he tried to score himself.

Salah may have passed to Mane had the Senegalese forward played him in earlier in the match.

After the match, Mane produced a standard post on Instagram – but later deleted it after fans of Salah attacked.

Here are just a few of the screenshots, which show Salah fans made their feelings towards Mane crystal clear…
