SADIO MANE has been Liverpool’s standout player this season, according to former striker Robbie Fowler.
Mane was brought in from Southampton for £34million in June, making him the most expensive African player in history.
The 24-year-old has lived up to his hefty price-tag and has already scored three goals and provided three assists in seven appearances for the Reds.
And club legend Fowler thinks the Senegal international has been Liverpool’s standout player and can help the team kick on.
“They’re a joy to to watch at the minute,” Fowler told Abu Dhabi newspaper Sport360.
“They’re exciting, everyone’s scoring goals and they’ve had some great results, but I don’t think anyone will be getting carried away.
“Klopp’s bringing out the very best of the players. They’ve all chipped in with goals.
“Philippe Coutinho’s played well, Daniel Sturridge, when he’s played, has been a handful.
“But the standout performer has been Sadio Mane. Hopefully, he’ll be the man to take us further up in the league.”
