Revealed: 4 Liverpool players miss Spain trip as Jurgen Klopp forced to leave star behind

Dejan Lovren was the most notable Liverpool star missing from the squad that traveled to La Manga alongside Jurgen Klopp.

The Liverpool defender has remained in Melwood to continue rehabilitation on the knee problem that forced him out of the last two games.

Lovren has not played since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea and he joins three other Liverpool players who missed the trip to Spain.

Long-term absentees Danny Ings and Adam Bogdan stayed in Melwood as did promising youngsters Ovie Ejaria and Marko Grujic.

Klopp is hoping the warm weather training camp will rejuvenate his side that has so far endured a frustrating 2017.

Just one win this year has derailed Liverpool’s title challenge, but a 2-0 win over Tottenham in their most recent game has raised hopes the Reds could still make top four.
