Newcastle United are interested in signing Sheyi Ojo from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to The Chronicle.
According to the report, Newcastle wanted to recruit the 19-year-old winger in the summer of 2016, and that manager Rafael Benitez wants to be kept informed about the youngster.
Ojo is a very talented and promising young player. and he would be a good long-term signing for Newcastle.
The Magpies will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship.
The England Under-20 international has struggled for playing time at Liverpool, and it does not appear that he will feature regularly under manager Jurgen Klopp next season.
It would make sense for Ojo to swap Liverpool for Newcastle, especially as working under Benitez is going to help the teenager make him a better player.
Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League this season and stand a chance of featuring in the group stage of the Champions League in 2017-18.
