According to reports from the Daily Express, Southampton are keen on securing the services of Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho.
Mamadou Sakho has been completely frozen out by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp this season and it is widely expected that the Frenchman will be departing Anfield during the current January transfer window.
A host of Premier League clubs are said to have expressed their interest in signing Sakho and now according to reports from the Daily Express, Southampton are also keen on the French international.
Southampton face the prospect of losing star man Virgil van Dijk this month and coincidentally, Liverpool are among the clubs interested in signing the Dutch international.
With genuine interest in van Dijk from the likes of Liverpool, Southampton are already believed to be looking at potential replacements for the central defender and now according to reports, Sakho has been eyed up by the Saints – in a move which could potentially spark a transfer merry-go-round between the two Premier League sides.
