Liverpool have enquired after Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel, Tuttomercatoweb report.
The Colombian forward is in his third season at Sampdoria, and has impressed by scoring 12 goals in 26 starts.
Muriel has also provided five assists, enjoying his best season since 2012/13 when he was at Udinese.
The 25-year-old striker has a release clause in his contract standing at 28 million Euros (£24 million).
It is not the first time Liverpool have been linked with signing Muriel.
The forward’s form at Udinese attracted their attention, with Goal claiming interest from the Reds in a player dubbed ‘the Colombian Ronaldo’.
It is no surprise that his form this campaign has re-ignited their desire to sign him, and is an early sign the Reds are plotting their transfer business this summer.
Liverpool have struggled to find a regular goalscorer this season, and while Muriel is not prolific, he would offer Jurgen Klopp’s side more of a threat than they currently pose if they can bring him aboard.
