STAN COLLYMORE has incredibly claimed Liverpool should sell star man Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho has played a huge part in Liverpool’s success this season, especially in the first half of their campaign.
The 24-year-old scored seven Premier League goals before picking up an ankle injury against Sunderland in November.
His and Liverpool’s form have dipped dramatically since then, seeing the Reds fail in their hunt for the title.
The Brazilian has scored just once since his injury in the 3-1 defeat to Leicester last month and Collymore thinks his inconsistency is holding his old side back.
“Coutinho is a great six games a season player, when we all salute his little genius, goals and creativity and I know he’s been injured but I’m just not sure Liverpool will ever be able to hang their hat on him to guarantee big performances week in week out,” he wrote on BoyleSports.com.
“The fact Lallana and Mane have kicked on under Klopp so much more than the little Brazilian tells my intuition that one of the Iberian giants could tickle the Reds fancy, even having signed a bumper contract.
“I personally would sell him if the price were right and get a more dominating physical presence, like Mane in that attacking three.
“Controversial I know but Phil just isn’t that consistent!”
