Newcastle United are ready to raise the stakes in their bid to sign Sheyi Ojo, according to a report.
The Shields Gazette reported last month that a loan move for Ojo had been knocked back by Liverpool.
However, one Sunday newspaper claim today Newcastle are ready to return with a £10million bid for the 20-year-old.
Ojo, also a loan target for Middlesbrough, didn’t make Liverpool’s 25-man squad for the Premier League Asia Trophy. And the winger will now assess his options.
Middlesbrough had been favourites to sign Ojo – who helped England’s Under-20s win the World Cup this summer – on loan this summer.
But The Sun report that a Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could be persuaded to sell Ojo.
United have been involved in weekend talks with Norwich City over a proposed £10million move for winger Jacob Murphy.
