According to the reports, West Bromwich Albion are back in the race to sign defender Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool after his superb displays for Crystal Palace.
Sakho, 26, had been in and out of the Liverpool side ever since his 2013 move from Paris Saint-Germain, but found his path to the first-team blocked by Jurgen Klopp this season.
The centre back failed to make even one appearance for Liverpool this term before being farmed out on loan to Crystal Palace, where his superb displays have earned great praise.
Sakho has been a key part of Palace’s recent revival, helping them win five of their last six games, with four clean sheets in that run with the Frenchman in Allardyce’s defence.
Sakho still has no future at Liverpool, and it will now be fascinating to see where he moves in the summer, given that the report claim West Bromwich Albion are preparing a new bid.
Back in August, West Brom attempted to sign Sakho after he was told he could leave Liverpool, but he turned down a move to The Hawthorns, as reported by BBC Sport.
Now, with a top ten finish on the cards, West Brom may be hoping to land the defender at the second time of asking, though Liverpool could demand at least £20million for his signature.
Palace will be desperate to keep Sakho having seen him make such a a huge impact at Selhurst Park, but his performance are turning heads – and we could see even more Premier League clubs join Palace and West Brom in the race for Sakho’s signature this summer.
