PL side eye Liverpool raid for £20m flop as Jurgen Klopp looks to raise £60m

WATFORD are considering a raid for Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic.

Markovic, 23, spent the second half of last season on loan at Hull under Marco Silva, where he showed some flashes of the skill that saw Liverpool sign him from Benfica for £20m back in 2014.

Now that Silva’s taken over at Watford after the Tigers were relegated, there’s talk be could be planning a reunion with the Serbia star.

The Times claim the new Hornets boss is considering a raid for Markovic ahead of the transfer window opening at the start of July.

Liverpool seem to have moved on from the attacker as they look to sign the likes of Mohamed Salah from Roma and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

But The Times claim they still value Markovic at £20m and will expect any offers to reach that amount before they consider selling him.

Apparently Jurgen Klopp is plotting an Anfield clear-out in the coming months that could raise north of £60m.

With Markovic looking to be heading out the exit door, Mamadou Sakho has also been linked with a move to Crystal Palace after he starred in the Eagles’ back line last season as they narrowly beat the drop.

Although he’s valued at £30m, which could be too much for Palace to spend on one player.

And left-back Alberto Moreno could also be heading out of Anfield after falling behind James Milner in the club’s pecking order.

The Times say Liverpool value him at £12m and he’s been linked with a move to both Milan clubs.
