Loris Karius is keeping himself upbeat as he looks to hold down his spot in the Liverpool team
Loris Karius seems to be keeping himself in high spirits despite there being no Premier League football this weekend.
The goalkeeper has been adapting to life at Anfield after joining the Reds from German side Mainz in the summer transfer window.
Karius endured a frustrating start to his career at Anfield after he suffered a broken hand in pre-season training and missed the first few games of the campaign.
However, the shot-stopper has started both of Liverpool’s last two Premier League games ahead of Simon Mignolet, and helped Jurgen Klopp’s men take all three points from both games.
Karius has been training with his Liverpool team-mates at Melwood this week – and the goalkeeper has taken to social media to reveal that he has plenty of reasons to smile at the moment.
Karius shared the photo above from a recent training session on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “There’s always a reason to smile ??? – even though there’s no @premierleague this weekend! #WorldSmileDay #LK1 #LFC”
Liverpool have made a strong start to the new Premier League season and are currently in fourth place in the table, two points behind leaders Manchester City.
The Reds take on Manchester United at Anfield after the international break.
