Daniel Sturridge hailed Sadio Mane’s 94th-minute winner after Liverpool eased to a 1-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Monday night.
The England international made his first appearance since early November when Jurgen Klopp brought on Sturridge for Divock Origi in the second half.
Sturridge managed to evade to Everton defenders before unleashing a shot which hit the post before Mane pounced on the rebound in the fourth minute of injury time.
Liverpool hoisted themselves above Manchester City and into second place but Klopp’s side are still six points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The Reds will host Stoke City in their next Premier League fixture at Anfield on 27 December.
The England centre-forward took to Instagram to reflect on Liverpool’s incredible late winner at Everton.
Sturridge wrote the following caption on the photo-sharing app:
“Yes boys!!! Good to be back. Well done @sadiomaneofficiel #lfc”
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season under Klopp.
The Merseyside outfit signed seven players in the summer transfer window.
