Mohamed Salah has named Francesco Totti, Zinedine Zidane and Brazil’s Ronaldo as his three favourite players of all time.
The Egypt international has enjoyed an incredible debut season for Liverpool, bagging 44 goals in 51 games. And with his remarkable form has come comparisons with the two best players of the current day – Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
However, when Salah was asked for his opinion on the greatest players ever, he replied: ‘Who is the best in history? I will tell you about the ones I loved when I was young and saw as outstanding stars.
‘Zidane, Ronaldo and Totti are the ones I loved the most when I was young. I loved watching them so much. I am lucky and so happy that I played with Totti [at Roma]. We have very good relationship together and are still friends until now. I didn’t see [Diego] Maradona and Pele play.’
Salah has the chance to create even more history for Liverpool when he lines up against Real Madrid in the Champions League final on May 26.
If the Reds emerge victorious, it will be their sixth European triumph. After the final, he will then lead Egypt’s charge at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, with the nation’s first game coming against Uruguay on June 15.
