Mo Salah floored Loftus-Cheek & Emerson one after the other during Liverpool v Chelsea

Safe to say Mohamed Salah stole the show during Liverpool’s victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

In the 53rd minute, moments after Sadio Mane had opened the scoring, the Egyptian scored one of his best goals in a Liverpool shirt from 25 yards out.

Salah cut inside from the right and unleashed an unstoppable strike into the top-left corner to make it 2-0. Kepa Arrizabalaga got nowhere near it.

It may even be a goal of the season contender, yet Salah claims it doesn’t compare to his stunner against Everton last season.

“I don’t think, I just feel,” Liverpool’s No.11 said after the game. “Normally I shoot [with the] inside of the foot but this one – because it’s far [out] – I just hit it with power.

“I was a bit lucky that the ball hit the net like that.

“I will always chose [the Everton] one. This is my favourite because it’s my first derby. I think I used everything good – the strength, the technique and the skills.”

Salah was a constant threat at Anfield and could have broken the deadlock in the sixth minute had he got better contact on his volley from Mane’s cross.

Chelsea players couldn’t handle him and there was one moment where he used his strength to floor Ruben Loftus-Cheek – no, really – and Emerson one after the other.

In the footage below, Salah dribbles past Loftus-Cheek and sends him tumbling before riding a challenge from Emerson by bulldozing him over.

Antonio Rudiger waxed lyrical about Loftus-Cheek’s power a few days before the Liverpool-Chelsea game, but Salah brushed him to one side like it was nothing.

Just like Lionel Messi, the 26-year-old is deceivingly strong and able to hold off opponents, mostly due to his low centre of gravity.

He’s now joint-top of the Premier League top goalscorer’s chart alongside Sergio Aguero (19), while Liverpool are two points clear at the top of the table.
