Abdoulaye Doucoure ‘dream move’ to Liverpool could happen for £40million, suggests Watford boss Javi Gracia.
Javi Gracia wants Abdoulaye Doucouré to become a big Euro star for Watford – but admits he’ll leave for a big club in the future.
The Hornets midfielder, 25, says it “would be a dream” to move to Liverpool.
He said: “If there is an offer, we will discuss to find the best solution. Everyone wants to play in the Champions League, the big competitions.”
Watford now value a player who cost £6million from Rennes in 2016 in the £40million bracket.
And boss Gracia insisted: “He is playing now for a big, big club — Watford.
“Maybe in the future he can play for another big club who plays in the Champions League. But I would like him to play in the future for Watford in Europe.
“I’m sure Doucoure will help us with his best attitude until the end of the season. Then we will see what happens. I would like him to stay with us for a long time.”
Watford made a £4million profit according to club accounts for 2016-17 – but they may have to sell Doucoure or Richarlison to stay in the black.
