Liverpool look set to miss out on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirming the player will stay at the club.
Despite the Reds seemingly cooling their interest in the £25m-rated England midfielder, rumours remain that he is still on their radar if they are priced out of a move for top target Naby Keita.
However, speaking after Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers, as reported by the Metro, Wenger commented on Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future.
“Yes. 100%, I expect him to stay,” the Arsenal boss said. “No matter the speculation, he will stay.”
The 23-year-old, who has a year remaining on his Arsenal contract, was thought to be keen on a move to Anfield in the search for regular first-team football but that seems increasingly unlikely.
