Liverpool are ready to fight Marseille for the signing of Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia in January, according to Goal.
The France international enforcer has not been guaranteed a place in the Serie A outfit’s starting XI since the summer appointment of Frank de Boer, starting only four games this season.

The 23-year-old cost Inter a sizeable fee when they bought him from Monaco last summer, but Kondogbia has not lived up to expectations at the Milanese outfit.
The latest report suggests that Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the all-action midfielder and could move in January to bolster his options in the boiler room.
Liverpool have played a three-man midfield this season, with Jordan Henderson partnered by Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana in the heart of the Reds team.
Kondogbia would certainly add bite to the Premier League side’s core and has the work-rate and energy that Klopp demands of his players.
Just whether the approach would be a loan move or permanent transfer remains to be seen, but the Frenchman could be an exciting addition to the Reds squad in the new year.
