Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool should make moves for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin in the summer transfer window.
Juventus are interested in signing Diego Godin in the summer transfer window, according to Tuttosport, and Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur would be wise to join the race for the Atletico Madrid central defender.
It has been reported by Tuttosport that Godin has a release clause of €20 million (£17.62m), and at that price, Liverpool and Tottenham simply cannot afford not to make an offer.
The Uruguay international, who is playing at the World Cup in Russia, is one of the best centre-backs on the planet and is a genuine world-class footballer.
A consistent defender with a no-nonsense attitude who turns on the style in the big games and is not scared to take on the best attackers in the world, Godin’s performances for Atletico both in La Liga and in the Champions League over the years have been hugely impressive.
If Italian and European giants Juventus consider the 32-year-old good enough, then should so Liverpool and Tottenham.
The Premier League duo could do with a defender of Godin’s quality and leadership at the back.
Dejan Lovren may have improved, but Godin would be a massive upgrade for Liverpool, while the former Villarreal star would be the perfect replacement for Toby Alderweireld at Tottenham, with Manchester United interested in the Belgium international central defender, according to The Manchester Evening News.
