LIVERPOOL could launch a shock move for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, according to reports.
The Reds are set to splash the cash this summer with the Reds still in need of a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho quit Anfield last month, signing for Barcelona and his old club are yet to bring in someone to fill the void left by his departure. And the Liverpool Echo say Tottenham’s Eriksen is an outside bet, with the Denmark international currently in fine fettle.
Eriksen has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League during his five years on these shores.
He has helped Mauricio Pochettino’s side become an outfit capable of challenging for silverware. And, while Harry Kane and Dele Alli are the club’s two talismans, Eriksen is arguably their third most-important player.
The Liverpool Echo say any move for Eriksen is unlikely. But yet it could happen should Tottenham fail to secure Champions League football – and Liverpool do.
The Reds raided rivals Arsenal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back in the summer. And Liverpool could do the same with Tottenham by poaching Eriksen.
The Spurs star, however, is not the only player tipped to move to Merseyside.
Liverpool remain interested in securing the signature of Monaco forward Thomas Lemar. And Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic is another on their radar.
Manchester United, however, are also keen on Pulisic and the fact he supported them as a child suggests he would prefer a move to Old Trafford.
