With Sergi Canos sealed a £2.5 million move from Norwich City to Brentford on deadline day, Liverpool are in line to profit.
Canos left Anfield for Carrow Road in July, but remarkably has only made six appearances for the Championship side, with just one start in the league.
With Norwich struggling in their bid for promotion back to the Premier League, Canos is set to move on to another mid-table side in his former loan club Brentford.
And with Liverpool having negotiated a 30 percent sell-on clause within their original £2.5 million deal with the Canaries, this will ensure they land another £750,000 this January.
While this is a minor development for the Reds, it does underline the positive work concluded in the summer market.
Smith has made six appearances for the Cherries, with two starts in the Premier League, while Ibe’s 11 league starts make up the majority of his 17 outings under Eddie Howe this season.
Liverpool also agreed a 30 percent sell-on clause with OGC Nice on Mario Balotelli‘s move to Ligue 1.
But with the striker only signing a one-year deal with the club, that may not come into effect, depending on Balotelli’s next move.
Canos’ time with Norwich has been a major disappointment, particularly given the potential the winger showed during his three years on the books on Merseyside.
This suggested he could establish himself as a useful option for Jurgen Klopp this season, much as Sheyi Ojo has following his breakthrough last term.
But with contract talks coming to a halt shortly after his debut, with Liverpool believed to have offered the 19-year-old just £3,000 a week, his departure was pushed through.
Moving back to Brentford does provide Canos with the opportunity to revive his fortunes, after a fruitful season on loan at Griffin Park in 2015/16.
He scored seven goals and assisted another five in 39 games for the Bees, becoming a firm favourite with supporters.
