LIVERPOOL need to improve in four areas this summer.
That is according to former Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have fallen out of the title race this season since the turn of the year.
They have a superb record against fellow top sides in the Premier League but have struggled against the lesser teams.
So McManaman is calling for additions in goal, in defence and on the flanks to bolster their hopes next season.
“You can pinpoint areas where Liverpool can improve their starting XI,” he said on BT Sport.
“James Milner has done a wonderful job but he’s not a left-back.
“They can go and get a better left-back who can play in that position.
“Yes I think they need a centre defender, there’s talk about the goalkeepers.
“I still think they need maybe one winger, possibly two.
“It would give them different options to help break the lesser teams down when things get tight and condensed.”
