Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.
According to Sport, Liverpool are one of a number of sides who have been offered Rodriguez by his agent Jorge Mendes, Rodriguez’s agent, who has told them that he is available.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Inter were also contacted by Mendes as he continues to search for a buyer.
Despite their interest, Liverpool are not willing to pay the £66m asking price.
Manager Zinedine Zidane is keen for a deal for Rodriguez to be completed as soon as possible, which in turn could cause Florentino Perez to lower his demands. Paving the way for Liverpool to make a bid.
Madrid are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Betis, which is set to accelerate Rodriguez’s departure from Madrid. This could also be used as a bargaining tool for the Merseyside club.

Manchester United and Chelsea have stepped up their interest in the last week but could now face stiff competition from Liverpool.
Rodriguez is looking to leave this summer after starting only 18 games in all competitions last season. The Colombia international has spent the past three years on the Spanish super club after joining them off the back of an impressive World Cup in Brazil.
But he’s failed to replicate the form which made him the 2014 tournament’s standout player and looks set to move away from the Bernabeu and join one of the other giants of Europe instead.
