Adam Lallana will step up his recovery on Tuesday by taking part in a game at Melwood.
The Liverpool midfielder is still waiting to make his first appearance for the Reds this season, with injury sidelining him since August.
Lallana has been suffering from a thigh injury, but has been penciled in to return for Liverpool against his former club, Southampton, on Saturday.
Liverpool have missed the intensity and ingenuity Lallana brings to their midfield and Jurgen Klopp will be eager to restore him to his side for the busy Christmas schedule. Lallana will join team-mates Daniel Sturridge, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Danny Ings in a game in training on Tuesday, according to the Times.
The English quartet are not involved in the Three Lions’ final international friendly against Brazil. Lallana will have the chance to get back up to speed with his fully fit team-mates before returning to action.
Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sturridge will be excited to see their fellow England international return to the fold.
Lallana has yet to play with Liverpool’s summer signings and will add a formidable threat to a side that already boasts the likes of newboys Mohamed Salah and Oxlade-Chamberlian.
Liverpool welcome Southampton to Anfield on Saturday as they look to continue building momentum after a difficult spell. Klopp is aiming to put together three league wins on the bounce for the first time this season.
