Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has stressed the importance of the Reds’ next Premier League game against Chelsea following a shock loss to Swansea on Saturday.
Paul Clement’s side recorded their first-ever league win at Anfield after a late goal from Gylfi Sigurdsson undid Liverpool’s comeback from two goals down in the second half.
Roberto Firmino struck twice after the break to bring Jurgen Klopp’s men level from 2-0 down, but the Red were hit on the break as they pressed for a late winner of their own.
When asked if Saturday’s loss had dealt a fatal blow to the Reds’ title challenge, Henderson told BT Sport: “No-one knows that, we’ll find out at the end of the season.
“But it’s how you react after defeats, that’s how you can show character, show your spirit and show how good you are as a team in the game after.
“The next game is very important for us, and we need to react in the right way.”
Liverpool will have to wait two weeks to get their Premier League title challenge back on track with an EFL Cup semi-final against Southampton and a FA Cup fourth round tie against Wolverhampton next on the agenda.
