Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren says manager Jurgen Klopp is responsible for his impressive run of form this season.
Lovren has featured nine times for Liverpool this campaign, eight of them in the Premier League, with the Croatian even getting on the scoresheet in the 4-2 win at Crystal Palace on October 29.
With the Reds riding high at the top of the table and losing just once in 11 games, the 27-year-old believes the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager has been crucial.
“When I started to play with Jurgen Klopp I think people were then able to see the difference between the first and the second season here for me,” Lovren said.
“He just believes in us and I think that has helped me to get back to the form I showed at Southampton or during the couple of years before that in France.”
Lovren has formed a strong relationship with summer signing Joel Matip in the centre of defence, with both playing an integral part to Liverpool’s successful start to the season.
With Klopp’s enthusiasm and passion, Lovren says the Liverpool boss has tried to instil the same work ethic into the players.
“I would say he works 24 hours a day on everything at the club,” he added.
“He knows everything that is happening, and he wants us to give that same 100 per cent on the pitch.”
