According to a report from FC Inter News, Liverpool are showing the strongest interest in signing Inter Milan youngster Sebastiano Esposito this summer.
The 16-year-old forward is highly rated in Italy, and he could be an exciting signing for the future for the Reds, if Jurgen Klopp does indeed manage to bring him to Anfield this summer.
FC Inter News claims that Liverpool are keen to sign Esposito, but they will face competition from Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Manchester United for his signature.
The teenager has played just one senior game for Inter, but he has been prolific for their youth teams, racking up 41 goals in 59 outings.
He has also scored 14 goals in 20 appearances for the Italy under-17 side.
Esposito is a really exciting talent, and he could prove to be a superb addition for Liverpool. He is technically gifted and has a real eye for goal.
The report from FC Inter News doesn’t name a specific fee that would be needed to prise the youngster away from the San Siro, but they do suggest it would take an amount with ‘many zeros’.
Whether Liverpool are ready to spend big on a fairly unproven teenager, however, remains to be seen.
